We are HOOK THE CURE
Hook the Cure is a diabetes awareness organization dedicated to finding a CURE through education, research, and philanthropy. Hook the Cure (HTC) was started on the campus of The University of Texas at Austin in the Spring of 2009 by four undergraduate students. Since then, HTC has grown to educate the university community and Austin community about diabetes. In the Spring of 2010, HTC hosted its 1st Annual Diabetes Awareness Conference (DAC). The DAC showcased a speaker panel (consisting of endocrinologists, nurses, certified diabetes educators, and diabetic patients), research poster forum, and a benefit dinner. Hook the Cure's main events include the conference, JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes, and Diabetes Awareness Week at UT.
